Who are we?

500X330_Mandarin_WhoAreWeThe Mandarin Center of the University of St. Thomas and the Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages is a pioneering Mandarin Education program developed to support the US-Taiwan Education Initiative launched in 2021, which aims to promote Mandarin language education in the local communities and to enhance educational exchanges and cooperation between the two universities.

The Mandarin Center is the first partnership program to underscore the shared values of academic freedom and innovation between the U.S. and Taiwan, fostering a deeper educational and cultural exchange. Furthermore, the programs provided are being institutionalized to ensure ongoing cooperation and to address challenges in international education. This program consists of a substantial long-term investment in our university among Taiwanese and Taiwanese American businesses and community leaders in Houston.

What do we do?

We provide opportunities such as language courses, study abroad scholarships, and cultural activities for students to experience the essence and beauty of Chinese and Taiwanese cultures.
