Intro - MACThe Mendenhall Achievement Center is the heart of UST’s support for students’ success. The second floor of Crooker houses the Tutorial Services, Dean of Students Office, Academic Advising, and much more! If you find yourself not knowing where to go, any one of these offices can help.

The Mendenhall Achievement Center was established in 2008 by Ms. Trini Mendenhall because of her love for UST students and her desire to see them succeed.

We’ve included a cheat sheet below on the offices and frequent barriers they remove so you can be successful.

Mendenhall Summer Institute

Mendenhall Summer InstituteAs you get ready to begin your college career at the University of St. Thomas, consider starting early in our Mendenhall Summer Institute (MSI)!

MSI is a jam-packed five-week program held during the month of July exclusively for incoming freshmen students. The Institute helps our newest Celts prepare for the rigors of UST. When not in class, you will build meaningful friendships with fellow incoming freshmen as well as with established Mendenhall Mentors by going on excursions around Houston and activities outside the classroom.

By the end of July, you will have completed 6 elective credit hours, gotten a head start applying to on-campus jobs, and will be more confident in your abilities to thrive at UST.

Ms. Mendenhall, who founded MSI 15 years ago, gives 30 students in the Institute a $1,000 per semester for up to 8 semesters scholarship. These scholarships are distributed based on need and participation in the program.
